Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Now you have the opportunity to become a field quality purchaser and join our fantastic team. This is an exciting opportunity if you are searching for the best of three worlds; Technology, Commercial and Great team spirit.
For a field quality purchaser no day or task is like the other. A normal day can start by having a technical meeting together with R&D colleagues and end with a challenging negotiation with a supplier. This is a role with plenty of scope for creativity and challenging commercial topics.

Job Description

As the field quality engineering team continuously analyse the product quality situation on the market, improvements are continuously made on our products. As field quality purchaser you are responsible to purchase these improved parts for our trucks, busses and engines. Your tasks:

• Commercial responsibility for field quality issues at Scania.
• Development of the field quality supplier base with focus on lead-time and sustainability.
• Improve and challenge the processes to shorten the lead-time in the sourcing process and from order to delivery.
• Negotiate the best cost and lead-time.

Since you will purchase parts for all products within the Scania portfolio this is an opportunity to get a good insight in our products and create wide network of contacts, both internally and externally.

The Scania Purchasing office is located in Södertälje and here you will be working in modern office landscapes that offers project areas, silent rooms and a lounge where you can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee with you colleagues during a meeting or a break.

Your profile

You have a strong commercial interest and are passionate about doing business, but still want to be close to the technology.

We’re looking for a candidate who has a university degree or relevant work life experience and is professional, creative, flexible, and result oriented. You will work with many contacts at different levels, so good negotiation, communication and cooperation skills are important. You’re well organised and analytical, enjoy a fast tempo and can create strategic, comprehensive solutions to achieve agreed objectives. We are looking for someone who enjoys varied duties and who dares to challenge the current way of working, and can work both independently and within a team.

The role involves a large international network, so you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken Swedish and English. Besides the qualifications required for the position, we also prioritize qualifications that will intensify the already strong team spirit within the team.
