Financial controller to Instabox!

Who we are

Over the course of the past five years we have grown to a business of over 500 Instaboxers united by a single purpose: providing the smoothest shipping experience known to man. We’re super fast, both in terms of parcel delivery and when it comes to growing our business. At this very moment, we are in the middle of an exciting expansion phase and are setting up an in-house accounting team. For this team, we are looking for a Financial controller with knowledge about accounting and we hope that special someone, might be you. This will be a 12-month temporary position but since the company is growing so fast it might be a permanent job if we find the right person.

What you will be doing

As a Financial controller at Instabox, you will make sure that we have correct accounting and effective processes. You will be a part of a team of three including two accountants, and one Head of Accountant which you will also report to. At this moment we have our accounting outsourced so you will together with the team implement a new accounting system and take home the accounting. To succeed it's important that you have experience or a strong interest in setting up new systems. We’re a fast-growing company so the tasks and assignments will shift with short notice, but this will be your main focus:

- Monthly financial reporting
- Responsible for monthly and annual accounts
- Provide financial data to the company in an expedient and accurate manner
- Preparation of financial statements, statutory reporting including annual reports, income tax returns and VAT
- Prepare monthly reports and analysing the outcome
- Ensuring the quality of accounting and reporting.
- Account reconciliation and transaction monitoring.
- Cooperate with colleagues, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Help colleagues and support accountants in your team
- Cash management


Who you are

To succeed in the role of a Financial controller at Instabox, we will place great emphasis on your personality. In addition to being self-sufficient, being loyal, and attentive, we are also looking for those who can easily get into complex questions.

In addition to that we are also looking for you who have:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5+ years’ experience in controlling/accounting/finance
- Experience with financial reporting requirements
- Experience in working in Netsuite
- Knowledge about IFRS and consolidation

- Ability to think creatively, problem solve and work independently
- You are detail orientated and a high level of pride in your work
- Proven ability working in a fast-paced, team environment with experience of developing processes and routines to streamline and improve working methods and flows
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment
