Main Tasks: For our Technical Team, responsible for the development of front-end applications, we are currently looking for experienced candidates (f/m) for the position of Front End Developer (JAVA).

- As part of a team of highly motivated professionals, working alternately independently and in concerted team efforts, you will continually focus on quality improvements in every respect.
- You will assess the feasibility of new requirements and assist project managers in composing the required specifications as well as the informal documentation on certain systems.
- Developing Java/XML-based front-end applications and XINS-based web services, you will support the Interaction Design Team in writing XSLT and pro-actively suggest improvements with respect to productivity, architecture, working methods, specifications and code quality.
- Supporting your fellow team members and reporting directly to the team leader, you will perform operational tasks to a certain degree, assist in performance tests, plan deliveries with the team leader and issue the actual delivery request.
- Furthermore, you will conduct research into potential problems with applications deployed in a production environment by analysing and combining information from various sources, including access logs and application logs.
- Where front-end applications are concerned, your specific tasks will include assisting in the definition of page flows, writing and maintaining formal specifications in XML, and maintaining and developing existing and new front-end applications, mainly in Java and XML.
- In addition, you will improve existing front-end applications, for example by porting them to a web service based approach.
- With respect to web services, you will write and maintain the formal specifications for XINS-based web services, help maintain existing web services, develop new web services for internal as well as external use, and assist in the further development of the XINS web services framework.

Requirements: Since your fellow team members and other teams will need to be able to rely on your expertise, we require a vocational degree and 2 years relevant experience with developing internet applications. In-depth knowledge of object-orientation is required, as is ample experience with versioning systems, application frameworks, system development, and development and delivery procedures. Knowledge of and experience with Java and XML is a prerequisite. In the same vein, you are able to analyse technical problems and propose solutions. You should be able to interact comfortably with different levels of the organization, including management and staff of different nationalities, and to work both independently and collectively in a team environment. Other skills and qualities that are highly welcome are knowledge of XSLT, experience with web services in a professional environment, and experience with UNIX/Linux systems in combination with knowledge of UNIX commands.
