Frontend Developer

Opera is building a new gaming platform that will reach our millions of daily browser users. Together with our sister company Yoyo Games and our gaming browser team (Opera GX) we aim to bring user generated multiplayer games to the masses straight in the browser.
This is an opportunity to join our front-end team in Gothenburg Sweden, which has a unicorn track-record, to build the next big thing. You will work on the web platform that will support both game developers and allow players to play games together, join tournaments and socialise. We’re looking for developers with a passion for technology.
Experimenting with new technology is in our DNA and our team is constantly cooperating to find better ways to build quality mobile apps and webapps. In our current project we have chosen to go with TypeScript, Next.js and React.js. Product quality and iteration speed are crucial to building successful products and we believe that automated testing should be a natural part of the development pipeline.
Role & Responsibilities:
Discuss product requirements and implement features according to them
Improve current code base
Be part of technical discussions and code review

Job Requirements:
Strong knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
Experience with React.js, React Native or Next.js
Fluency in English
Self drive to develop new skills
