THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you interested in payment processes and creating the best services for the customers? We are doing it from scratch and since the payments arena is a tricky one, full of interesting and challenging problems, we need to contribute this new team with you - a kind, smart and curious engineer.

At Boozt we have a long history of pushing the boundaries of our organisation to find and explore new opportunities. Now it is time to take our checkout and payment experience to the next level. We are just starting from a greenfield to bootstrap ourselves into what we are certain will be the future of our checkout and payments experience. Right now we have a great deal of autonomy on the tools we want to use and how we want to solve the many challenges we have ahead.

There are few guiding principles that we keep as our north star and that will be the foundations for the team we are building.

- We strive for simplicity in our solutions. There are many complex problems to solve and we want to tackle them with simple and elegant engineering techniques.
- Thinking and communication come first. Coding is the easy part.
- We believe that functional programming is a secret weapon for maintainable projects. Haskell is our preference, but we don’t shy away from different tools or paradigms when they have an edge on specific domains.
- The best code is the code that writes itself. We strongly believe in automation and abstraction as tools for more resilient systems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- System and architecture design with a focus on maintainability and resilience
- Implementing the payments logic
- Integrating with third party payment providers
- Building SDKs for in-house consumption
- Developing automation tools for code generation

YOUR PROFILE

- You have at least 2 years engineering experience. We'll be most interested in hearing about what you've built, and what drove you to take the decisions that you made.
- Confidence with at least one functional language and comfort with several others. We believe that functional programming may improve maintainability and development time.
- A strong affinity for relational databases and data modelling. We believe that data is king and having a sound data model is what we believe is the key to our success.
- Fluent in English, since this is our corporate language.

To be successful in this role you are a person that feels strong responsibility for making things happen. You are creative and have a great desire to learn and listen to others' ideas with an open mind in order to find the right solution.
