About Just Football

Just Football is a start up with a young ambitious team based in Stockholm. Just Football’s vision is to turn the world’s biggest sport into a mobile game in order to make kids spend more time outside being active. The game has over 30 thousand users today and thousands of kids being active in the game every day, a number that Just Football are expecting to double by the end of the year. Much like the concept surrounding ”Pokemon Go” but for football, the mobile free to play game is at the intersection between real life football challenges and a virtual football career. The only way to progress in the game is to go out and play real football; creating new friendships, promoting physical health and developing the next generation of football players. Having already launched in Sweden together with the biggest star in Swedens national team, John Guidetti, the company is looking to break ground in Europe this year - posing bigger challenges to scalability, speed and reliability. 

About the role

As a Fullstack Developer at Just Football you will be part of a small, enthusiastic and fast moving team that works with the latest technologies. You will play a key role in the development of Just Football in order to take the game, as well as football around the world, to the next level. Your core responsibilities will include programming and building the Just Football game from scratch with a primary focus around the technologies Javascript, AWS and React Native. You will in addition to this work closely together with the rest of the team to ensure common goals and expectations are met in accordance to their shared long term vision. With little to none bureaucracy you will have a great deal of autonomy in your work and immediately become a valued member of the team.

Just Football are looking for

We think that you have a few years experience of working hands-on with software development in an agile environment. Just Football believes that a great developer can learn any language and look fondly at experience from multiple programming languages. Experience from the following technologies are however seen as especially meriting: Javascript, AWS, React Native, Microservices, Unity, Node.js, TDD, BDD, Docker, Graph QL and Typescript. 

As a person you are driven, social and able to take your own initiatives. You are able to work independently and adapt easily to new ideas in a flexible way. You have a passionate and hands-on attitude to your work. You care about quality and you know what it means to ship high quality code. Most importantly is that you are an eager learner, with the will and determination to always develop yourself, as well as being supportive to the learning of your team members. Just Football encourage learning and offer great potential for you to grow in your role as both a developer and leader. A keen interest in football and/or gaming is of course seen as a plus.
