The group Architecture & Non-Propulsive Control within the department Powertrain Controls and Calibration (PCC) consists of 20 persons responsible for, among other things, system and functional development of Powertrain nodes. Our group is also the main accountable for the software integration between our internal developed software and external supplier software. The group is involved in the development of several vehicle functions, e.g. start, stop/start, and vehicle energy management (fuel saving strategies based on, among other things, cloud communication). You will also be a part of a team responsible for deciding the future of our automated process with virtual machines, new subversion structure, software architecture design, just to mentioning a few of the current challenges.

As Function Realisation Responsible (FRR) /System Designer you will be responsible for the realization of a vehicle function and you shall create a technical solution using model based system development. Working with modelling tools the function owner describes a system with use cases, scenarios and detailed object models. The FRR assists in this work. The function design should include a design and simulation model used to verify the function together with the customers - business project leader, complete vehicle tester, property developer, and representatives for legal and insurance requirements. The Function Realisation (FR) shows which HW and SW are included in the realization of a function and includes requirements on the involved electrical subsystems. As a System Designer you are also responsible for describing a system solution in the electrical system that fulfils technique, time, and cost requirements. The system designer designs and document the system solution securing that the input requirements from the legal attribute and function realization areas are fulfilled and are in line with the architectural intents given by the system architecture. The system designer is responsible that the quality assuring activities like e.g. review and verification activities for the electrical system solution are performed. The two roles are separate but complement each other, this position consist of both roles.

Main responsibilities

* The FRR shall ensure that a common solution is created together with the System Designers for the electrical subsystems that are part of realizing the function. For this, the FRR must see to that the responsibilities of each electrical subsystem for realising the function's requirements is described
* Be the interface between the Function Owner (FO) and the electrical system
* The FRR must also ensure the integration of this solution
* For Safety related functions, a Functional Safety Concept (FSC) must be described
* The SD shall describe how an electrical subsystem shall be realized in a system solution that fulfils the technical, time, and cost requirements. As the subsystems are a part of the realisation of the electrical functions, this shall be done in cooperation with the FRRs
* Plan the system development according to the Function Implementation Plan (FIP)
* Analyze and agree incoming requirements from the FDR
* For systems with ASIL classified requirement create or update Project System Safety Plan

Required qualifications

* Education at technical university at M.Sc. Level or the equivalent competence by years of practice
* Skills in model based development
* Experience from electrical system design
* Understanding of software development workflow and processes
* Driving license for passenger car (B)
* Experience in software development for embedded systems is meritourisous
* Understanding of model-based systems, Simulink/TargetLink is an asset
* Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking tool is meritourisous

Personal qualities

* A good ability of communication and teamwork is essential, as well as a structured approach
* Structured, with good analytical skills
* Capable of focusing on both daily issues and long-term visions
