Geographic Analyst

Overall purpose of the job: Hire for an unlimited period of time Start Date: As soon as possible Location Stockholm, Sweden The Geographic Analyst's function is to create and update our Nordic Map Database. The job consists in gathering and updating geographical and touring information directly from field investigations or other sources. The Geographic Analyst will support the activities of the Team Leader and colleagues through the evaluation and reporting of the data base content and any problem that may occur. Responsibilities: Identification of the present and future sources of information Responsibility, ownership and planning of minor geographical areas, including desk research and field work Delivery of own projects to pre determined time scales Get all relevant information regarding any modification to be input into the database Validation of the information (reliability, quality) Identification of and negotiations with potential official contacts to get the maximum of reliable information Analysis of aerials, maps, points of interest Assistance with driving and fieldwork Data entry in our internally developed GIS system Any other activity that the Management may require Requirements: Graduate level (in the direction of Geography) Fluent in Swedish and English Good computer skills Good communication skills Drivers license Knowledge in different GIS applications Flexible in attitude towards traveling Internal and external relationships: External: Internal: All other Geographic Analysts Reporting structure: Indicate the position which this post reports into: Team Leader Indicate any positions which this post has authority over: None
