GIS Technician
Description
GIS technicians who apply science, computer, and software skills to the design, maintenance of project specific GIS databases in a marine laboratory or onshore.The databases should be designed to comply various requirements from our clients and also development to optimize the use of the marine data within the GIS.The position requires good knowledge of GIS systems.
5 years or more documented GIS experience is preferable also knowledge of GIS.ESRI - ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, FME, AutoCAD, Oracle SEO PostgreSQL.Further knowledge of PLTS and JTX within the ESRI-environment is appreciated.
Tasks and Duties Management and structure of various data sets including QA control Set up databases based on our clients request Develop the current our current GIS tools to optimize presentation of data and user functions.Supervise our GIS user e.g.geologists and hydrographers.Participate in the development of future GIS products suitable for our data.Perform and evaluate new products Participate as our GIS expert in project planning
