We’re now looking for an experienced Global Category Manager to lead and manage the Category Team at our Sandvik Coromant Procurement team – joining us in this position you get to work in a healthy, team-spirited and forward-striving environment, where we encourage both personal and innovative professional development.


About the job
In this role, you define a sourcing strategy for your category department, including clear short- and long-term goals and activities. A key aspect of this strategy is to build up and maintain knowledge of the supply market; and for this to happen, you lead and participate in sourcing projects, such as supplier selection and creation of contracts. With this in mind, you simultaneously establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
By applying relevant tools from our category management process, supply positioning and customer preferencing models, you develop and maintain the supplier base. Another important part in your role is securing appropriate category agreements, as well as collaborating with our users and stakeholders – such as offer management, R&D, production units, and marketing departments.
The right candidate can choose to work from Sandvik Coromant Head office in Sandviken, Sweden or any of the locations where Sandvik Coromant has Production Units.


About you
We’re looking for someone with a relevant degree combined with extensive, practical experience working in a similar role. You’re a proven, skillful negotiator with knowledge of how to navigate and adapt to changes. Preferably, you have experience in mentorship programs, project management and an interest in systems. Having previous experience within direct material; steel and machine components are advantageous for this position. We also find it highly beneficial if you have a Silf certification or equivalent diploma. As we act on the global scene, you master the English language, both verbally and written. It’s also beneficial to this position if you speak and write in Swedish or any other language.

Having a genuine business acumen, you work dedicatedly and deliver results both independently and in collaboration with others. Trustful relationships are something of value to you, and through communication, you build and strengthen internal and external connections.
