Background
This function has gone from being a local concern to a global opportunity.
Previously the freight purchase was a matter of signing an agreement on who was to transport goods from A to B.

The new vision is to take responsibility for the transport services throughout the entire Supply chain, to create a transport solution from supplier/production to end customer including customs handling.

Job description
You will be part of the Mining and Rock Excavation Service divison (aftermarket division) Global transport organization situated in Örebro Sweden, Allen Texas US and Nanjing China) and be an essential part of developing the global Supply Chain for Atlas Copco.
You will:
Develop and facilitate freight/transport solution contracts including customs handling for Mining and Rock Excavation Service Global transport services.
You will have global responsibility for Mining and Rock Excavation Service transport agreements, meaning that freight contracts for all distribution units and local Customer Centers are your responsibility direct and in matrix supported by the local/global purchasing organization.
be part of and develop the transformation from a local outlook on transport purchase and agreements to a global Supply chain services direction for logistics solutions.
To be a Mining and Rock Excavation Technique Business Area representative in the Global Freight Team, constituted by Freight Purchasers from the entire Atlas Copco group.
Develop new ways of solutions for increased business results, driven by customer satisfaction and lowest total supplied cost.

Mission
The mission of the department is To lead and build a global transport service organization that develop world class global and local integrated transport solutions and customs activities.

This means:
Lead with expert knowledge within forwarding/transport and Customs procedure within production and distribution
Evaluate and nominate forwarders and transport service providers to achieve the best balance between Service, performance, quality and price to lowest total Supply Chain cost
Negotiations and contract work process and closure
Supplier and transport performance and cost follow up
Develop common global processes and follow up tools for transport and Customs within Mining and Rock Excavation Service division/Mining and Rock Excavation Technique business area and Atlas Copco Supply chain
Develop the competence of transport and Customs globally and locally in our organization and markets
Develop a common demand profile of systems to support a global transport and Customs operations in Mining and Rock Excavation business area.

The job includes approximately 75 days of travel per year.
You will report to the Global Supply Chain Projects Manager who is currently also acting Transport Manager Mining and Rock Excavation Service.
You will be located in Örebro.

Knowledge
Experience from the transport industry (internationally)
Competence and experience from transport purchase, negotiation and contract rights
Customs procedures (Swedish Customs authority a plus)
Strong communication skills
English and Swedish, spoken and written, needs to be handled at a good professional level. Any additional language constitutes a merit.

Educational requirements
University degree in Economics, Logistics, or equivalent experience required.

To enjoy this job you need to have good power of initiative, be flexible and organized with a fair amount of analytical skills.
