Scania is continuing their efforts on building a robust governance and control environment. We are now looking for a role that will act within Governance and Internal Controls Management. We are looking for a person with extensive experience in the areas of Governance and Internal Controls specifically within Captive Financing. The role will be based in the Risk Management Function but will be shared with the Compliance Function and for the governance related responsibilities report into Financial Services Global Compliance Function.

Key responsibilities and activities will be:

The Global Governance and Internals Control Manager assumes overall second line responsibility for the implementation and execution for Scania Financial Services internal controls management.  His/her responsibility include, but are not limited to:


• Support and monitor ICMS in Scania Financial Services.
• Continuously ensure that the global ICMS elements reflect the needs in Scania Financial Services and risk-appetite and other directions and requirements set by Financial Services board and management.
• Monitor and report to the SFS management on the ICMS status.
• Consult and train relevant Process Owners and Control Testers within Scania Financial Services.
• Design processes and guidelines to ensure Control Testers are independent and have the competence to perform testing
• Review the results of the controls testing
• Design processes and guidelines for the tracking of measures to mitigate identified control deficiencies on Scania Financial Services level
• Design processes for maintenance of appropriate user access in the ICS software for all involved persons within the area of responsibility.
• Evaluate the need to improve local ICMS activities as a result of feedback from internal, external, or legal audits

For the governance related part of the role the following responsibilities make up the starting point for this job. It should however be noted that this is an area under development and the responsibilities will change as part of the overall governance maturity changes:


• Develop an improved lifecycle process for management of Scania Financial Services policies (including consultations, implementation tracking, exception management, communications environment)
• Support policy owners at head office
• Revise and adapt policies and other governance documents, like standards and guidelines, to ensure consistency and quality.
• Support both head office and SFS globally with guidelines on governance document management and drafting
• Make, and provide, training on governance including 3 LOD
• Participate in a project to assess overall governance environment through the different organisational layers with the view to further improve simplicity as well as robustness of the governance environment

 

Furthermore, the ICMS Manager for SFS has :


• Knowledge of Compliance Programs for a Captive Financial Services company
• Experience with implementing Internal Control Management Systems in a Captive Financial Services environment
• Experience with governance work in large complex organisations including leading implementations and project management
• Excellent communication and language skills : English + another important language
• Solid structuring and prioritisation skills and the ability to work both collaboratively through communities and independently to design solutions.
• The ability to create engagement and sense of purpose around the governance, risk and compliance agenda

 

Job requirements

We are looking for an experienced Internal Controller with extensive experience in both risk management and governance in the field of Captive Financing. Experience in large and complex stakeholder environments is a must.
An important part of the role will be related building relations with the Risk and Compliance Managers in our local Business Units and work through communities and stakeholders that may have other responsibilities and priorities.  Your active contribution in developing a professionally designed and effective Governance and Internal Control environment within Scania Financial Services will be essential for the business and our ability to reach our strategic objectives.

 

You have a strong drive and talent to work with different cultures, therefore it is important to be flexible. The daily communication will be in English, therefore you need to be fluent in written and spoken English. Other world languages are an important advantage.

This position will in the future require international traveling. Social skills and multi-cultural understanding are important to better interact in the different work constellations.  You need to have the ability to support the Risk Management and the Compliance area and find creative structures to mitigate Scania risk.
