Based in Stockholm, Devyser was founded in 2004 by three pioneers who envisioned rapid, non-invasive diagnostics based on multiplex approaches for NGS, real-time PCR and QF-PCR platforms. This has since been applied to the front-end of sequencing workflows in order to streamline protocols. Devyser has since grown and today our products are used in over 60 countries, and we are still growing. Now we are looking for a Head of Assay Development to head up our R&D.
About the role
As Head of Assay Development, you manage the assay development group and monitor projects related to assay development. As a manager, you not only lead, but also coach the assay development staff. You have an operative responsibility of the group, and you develop and implement the strategy for assay development and ensure its successful execution. You and your team work closely with your peers in Operations, and you report directly to the COO.
In addition, you work cross-functionally to support the entire company with your knowledge and ideas. You are a member of the Operations Management Group, and with your expertise you contribute to the overall development of strategies and roadmaps for operations. As Head of the Assay Development group, you represent Devyser to external authorities, technical and regulatory communities. You will participate in relevant congresses, symposiums and other meetings and provide feedback to the rest of the organization. In this position, you contribute to the development of a technology strategy at Devyser.
Your duties in the role include, but are not limited to:
Manage and ensure monitoring of projects related to assay product development, data collection and handling
Prepare, revise, and maintain procedures for the conduct of assay development projects
Support evaluation of technical risks in Devyser products
Ensure publication of technical results together with CTO/CMO and support submission of results to health authorities
Provide technical input into innovation and development activities and contribute to the development of internal processes including SOPs, guidelines, and work instructions related to the role
Ensure to be updated on the latest scientific information concerning our business areas

As Head of Assay Development, you are also a member of defined steering groups
Member of the innovation steering group
Member of Product Development Process reference group
Chairman of the Product Care Process operative steering group (Product care manager is rapporteur)

Of course, you have a strong passion for the area and always strive to be updated in the latest scientific research and development.

Qualifications
University degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
Several years’ experience in a leadership role
Experience in project management and product development
Knowledge of process development and implementation in R&D areas
Experience with regulatory activities in EU and experience with other regions is meritorious
Excellent oral and written skills in Swedish and English
It is meritorious if you have experience in clinical and diagnostics development
