We are searching for a Head of IP to lead, manage and develop our IP Strategy & Portfolio team and organization. This is an exciting and interdisciplinary role as you will head a progressive, strategic, and operative function with a clear mandate in the field of IP management for a company set for growth. As part of the company's product management leadership team, you will be business accountable to define and deliver our IP plan and strategy as well as lead the development and use of our IP portfolio.
At Emerson Rosemount Tank Radar strategic IP leadership is an integral part of our organization. You will be an important force and catalyst to maintain, use and further develop our IP portfolio. In this position you will be able to support our company to make better decisions, become more competitive and have a long-term view on IP and technology leadership.
Responsibilities – About the role
Lead, manage and continuously develop the IP Portfolio & Strategy organization
Define and deliver on our IP Plan and Strategy
Business accountable to create, prosecute, use, and manage the IP portfolio according to set development goals to improve long-term business value and alignment
Drive the internal awareness and utilization of our portfolio in accordance with set plans
Lead, drive and facilitate activities and dialogue cross-functionally, both formally and informally to support collaborators and R&D projects in achieving set goals
Manage and mitigate IP risks
Take lead on external IP matters such as licensing negotiations and technology partnerships
Be in charge of improving core IP operations with regards to invention to patent and prosecution process with internal and external partners
Responsible for our IP related workflows and procedures
Provide business relevant competitor intelligence, analysis, and synthesis
Full budget responsibility
Educate, inspire, and advise in field of IP

Requirements - Who you are
To succeed in this role, you are not only comfortable in leading and operatively delivering for your cause. You are also confident and understand how a strategic and pro-active approach to IP leadership contributes positively to our broader strategic decision-making dialogue and business success. We believe that you are intrigued by and can manage a wide mix of complexities between the fields of IP, technology, law, and business.
This position will provide you with a broad combination of challenges giving you the freedom and responsibility to push and maintain progression.
Requirements
M.Sc. in engineering or equivalent degree in combination with relevant work experience within the field of IP management, technology-intense product planning or R&D leadership
At least five years of IP management, strategic leadership, or other equivalent experience
Hands-on experience of synthesizing strategy covering a cross-functional company level and being a catalyst for change
Proven track-record to work pro-actively in the intersection between technology planning, R&D, and IP
Experience from managing and leading the prosecution of an IP portfolio
Business fluent in Swedish and English

The following skills or experiences are of merit
Solid experience in driving business value based on technology and intellectual property
Product or technology planning and leadership
Experience from technology-based IP licensing
Experience from leading innovation at the fuzzy front-end
Fluency in German is a plus
