The incumbent will be principal in developing and constructing the centre's cutting-edge ICT platform - an essential tool for communicating with a great variety of partner organizations and target groups across the world, often under conditions of poor connectivity. The successful candidate will be central to setting up and continuously adapting SWEDESD's information system and communication approaches, supporting the Centre's diverse functions of meeting place, information and experience exchange, documentation, distance learning, research and policy debate. The selected candidate will be joining the SWEDESD core team, consisting of the Director, the Scientific Director, the Administrator and three Program Coordinators (under recruitment). The ICT Officer's duties will include the following: * Provide leadership for formulating and adjusting the Centre's ICT strategy and policy. * Develop and implement appropriate ICT approaches, methods, tools and platforms for supporting the Centre's work. * Stay abreast of the latest developments in the ICT field in general and "ICT for learning and development" field in particular. * Identify, engage with and sustain networks, (partner) institutions, expertise and initiatives in the ICT and ESD field. * Collect, compile, structure information, data, knowledge etc. in the relevant areas (ICT and learning) and prepare it for dissemination, using a variety of methods. * Identify, initiate, formulate and coordinate innovative (ICT) research and evaluation projects. * Support with appropriate ICT approaches, methods and tools the design, development, implementation and administration of innovative and effective learning programs, events, workshops, seminars and conferences (in situ and on line). * Contribute to the development and use of appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems and tools * Initiate and develop innovative (ICT) project proposals in close cooperation with significant partners.
