Information Specialist - Chemistry or Biology

Poolia Väst Presentation We are looking for an Information Specialist (Chemistry or Biology) for an assignment at AstraZeneca in Mölndal. It is a fulltime position, starting ASAP till December 31st 2009. Scientific Information Services is a team that works closely with the scientists and experts within Discovery, Development and Global Marketing. Information Science and Analysis (ISA) is one of their key core services and apply information science skills and experience to provide a range of value added information services to assist the decision-making processes. Arbetsuppgifter You will provide information science support utilising a wide range of online published information and in-house resources to assist our internal customers. You will be based in Mölndal and work together with 7 Information Scientists (2 are based in the UK). Key focus for the Mölndal team is the Cardiovascular and Gastrointestinal Research and Therapeutic Areas. . Partner with key customer groups to provide added value information services through project alignment and support for strategic initiatives . Possess a detailed knowledge of electronic databases and command language of multiple online hosts . Data, information, and knowledge extraction, manipulation and visualization . Utilise information science skills and scientific knowledge to provide commentary and analysis to customers as appropriate Utbildning/erfarenhet Minimum experience/requirements . Degree level qualification or equivalent in chemistry or biology or a related discipline is required. . Good PC skills and practical experience of online commercial published information resources relevant to the pharmaceutical industry . At least one year of experience as Information Specialist or Librarian . Effective working both independently and within a team environment . Passion for customers . Self motivated with an excellent work ethic, demonstrated creativity and professionalism . Excellent communication skills, verbal and written (Swedish and English) Preferred experience/requirements . An understanding of the Drug Discovery process . Proven experience of working with standard information tools such as STN, Scifinder and Dialog.
