Volvo Car Corporation designs, develops, manufactures and markets Volvo Cars all over the world. Its research and development mostly takes place in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Infrastructure Architect will work in a small group of highly skilled team members that together will act as our stewards for the simplification, reusability and alignment within our Enterprise. The work includes collaboration with Ford to ensure regional and global efficiency of scale where possible. The work will be focused on how we build our Infrastructure solutions that support our business

The tasks for the Infrastructure Architect will include the following:

Defining our future technology platforms, Infrastructure operating
environments and platforms for efficient usability in bought
applications and application development environments
Drive commonality of IT systems within VCC with help of a standardized technology
Taking part of Enterprise Architecture (EA) role to monitor that all
infrastructure solutions built follow our guidelines
Solution Architecture, designing and consultancy in projects

Desired qualifications:

Broad system understanding of all kinds of Infrastructure is more
important than specific detailed knowledge in a certain area
In-depth knowledge in several of the following areas:
Middleware technology
Networking
Server hosting, Linux, Mainframe, Windows, AIX, VMS etc
Client environments
Storage technology
Security
Ability to identify opportunities to leverage existing IT components to drive commonality
Proven design contribution to large-scale project(s)
Experience from large and complex Infrastructure environments needed 4+ years of progressive responsibilities in IT with at least 2 years in areas related to this position

Prefered qualifications:

Togaf knowledge and experience
Knowledge from application development

You need to be a very good teamplayer, as the work involves a high degree of collaboration with colleagues both within the EA team and VCC/Ford.
You need to be able to communicate in front of teams and large groups.
You need to be able to explain complex solutions for non-experts so that they could briefly understand and take actions where needed

Education:

University degree in IT/Technical discipline or work experience that could match this background
Fluent in English, spoken and written
