Arbetsbeskrivning

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has a global IT function responsible for IT services across the business area. Our IT Service Delivery organization support our end to end business processes with solutions by providing service design & architecture, service implementation and service operations - always with continuous improvement on top of mind.
We are now looking for a professional to join and lead our Operations Services Support team in the EMEA region – someone who thrives in a global environment and truly enjoys developing people. This position is located either at our site in Tampere or in Sandviken.
Your mission
In this varied position, you lead a diverse team of IT professionals, spread out over France, South Africa, UK, Ghana and Finland. With cultural differences in mind and a focus on the individual, you provide professional and operational management while also inspiring and developing your team members, acting in line with our core values and leadership model. Even though the team is working remote, you retain a sense of presence and remain available to them in their daily work life, where you build trust by caring and supporting them in solving possible problems – all in order to help them focus on their delivery. Naturally, this role includes around 20% travelling during normal circumstances.
You make sure that assigned services are produced in accordance with policies and directives in the most efficient way and ensure stability in operations. The role also involves:
Planning, prioritization and allocation of production capacity to meet targets and agreements
Following up to ensure that all actions required are executed, and introduce, operate, change or retire components in operations, whether it involves people, services, hardware or software
Escalating current and foreseen future issues affecting production according to policies, instructions and organizational setup
Ensuring follow up and reporting is being performed for production metrics, e.g. cost, budget, incidents, capacity, according to agreements and produced services

Your character
We are looking for someone with a university degree in IT, or equivalent knowledge and prior experience of a corresponding job in a global company. Knowledge of ITIL and agile methods are required, and we hope you have a sound experience in escalation procedures. You possess excellent leadership and collaboration skills and have a background of minimum 2 years of leading global teams. As we operate in a global setting, solid English proficiency is needed, both verbal and written.
As you interact with many parts of our organization, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills suitable for a diverse audience. With great empathy and patience, you have an ability to be caring without being controlling, despite not being able to meet your colleagues physically, and you build trust by standing up for your team when needed. With curiosity and a sincere commitment to your area, you are ambitious in reaching excellent results in line with our business goals and create a high performing customer-focused team.
