Junior App. Developer-ARENA Extension Framework

The Role FRONT ARENA's Extension Framework development group is looking for a talented junior individual to work as a developer of our financial applications. You should have a solid academic background that includes exposure to both mathematics and programming. Interest or experience from the financial sector is an advantage. The work encompasses all aspects of the software development from design through development and large parts of the application from GUI to proprietary languages. The focus is always on understanding the user needs and building a system which can be adapted to these at runtime using dynamic languages and well designed class models and APIs. But above all to enhance and deliver improved end-user extension functionality/support in this area which is central to FRONT ARENAs success. Your skills will compliment an existing team of highly experienced and enthusiastic individuals. You will be servicing a wide base of customers across different geographical regions and will need to be able to travel and meet customers. You will quickly get a broad understanding of a world class trading system and given the right talent and drive you will soon take on responsibility for your own areas. Requirements The key qualities we are looking for are: . Programming experience, preferably with C++ and/or Python and a drive to continuously improve and excel in this area. . Understanding of Object Oriented programming, design patterns, Client/Server architecture, databases, multi-threaded programming and real-time systems. . Humble and dedicated approach to learning. . Good communication skills both verbal and written. We are also looking for: . Experience with any of the following: XML, SQL, COM, C#, .Net, Excel, Service Oriented Architecture . Experience in working on large software systems using source control such as ClearCase, SVN etc. . Any previous experience with FRONT ARENA development and/or implementation This position is especially suitable for applicants who have recently completed their academic studies or with some working experience from the software/finance industry.
