The main area of responsibility will be operating MySql databases on a day to day basis including: .Monitor and report database utilisation, daily, weekly and monthly..Implement approved changes to the database infrastructure..Incident resolution and impact analyses..Implementing approved changes to the database infrastructure..Documentation of components, baseline and usage profiles To be a successful candidate we also believe that You have a genuine interest in open source/databases and are willing to learn and develop within the following areas: .Database tuning .Database infrastructure tuning .Capacity analyses and reporting .Problem dig down and resolution..Modelling and prototyping future database needs.Documentation of components, baseline and usage profiles. We believe that the successful candidate should be educated on university level within the areas of computer science and system design. Required knowledge: .1-2 years experience from Opens Source environments .Experience from unix/linux and databases .Good level of written and spoken English Advantageous but not required.Experience from the following: .Transaction-intensive environments .
