Laboratory & Operations Director to Unilabs Denmark

Today, we are looking for a talented Laboratory & Operations Director to become part of our leadership team. The ideal candidate for this position will assume overall responsibility for our laboratory functions and operations and – as part of our leadership team – will also contribute to our strategy. In Denmark, we currently focus in particular on servicing customers in the Health Care (ISO 17025) and Pharmaceutical (GLP & GCP/GCLP).

The job

You will assume overall responsibility for our laboratory functions and operations, which include logistics, shipment and packaging functions) and teams.

Laboratory

- Manage daily operation in the laboratory (e.g. coordinate testing activities, supply, etc.)
- Lead and manage our team of scientist and lab technicians (about 15 people)
- Optimize and harmonize laboratory practices
- Ensure compliance (e.g. GLP requirement, documentation, etc.)
- Coordinate collaboration with our other Unilabs
laboratories

Operations

- Oversee performance of our logistics and customer ‘services
- Forecast, plan and assign resources in operations functions for production and customer projects
- Lead and manage our Operations teams
- Provide technical expertise to our Business Development team when establishing new tender.
- Lead supply chain management for the laboratory and packaging functions

People management

- Champion collaboration and foster a “can-do” culture.
- Promote a growth mindset and in cooperation with our HR ensure people training and development

Further, in this role you will be reporting to our Managing Director and be a central member of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) which includes our Head of Business Development, Head of Finance and Head of Pharma Projects.

Competences we are looking for:

Must have

- 5 years of experience as clinical lab manager
- 5 years of experience leading people
- Exemplary stakeholder management
- Relevant chemistry education, MSc or higher
- Hands-on experience with process improvements/efficiency methodologies (i.e. LEAN/Kaizen) and implementation
- Experience with setup and maintenance of laboratory IT networks, computerized system validation
- Working experience with ISO, GCP/GCLP and GLP

Nice to have

- Service/ CRO industry knowledge
- Knowledge of service supplier negotiation
- International work experience
- Our corporate language is English, Danish would be nice to have.
