ARBETSUPPGIFTER Undervisning på engelska i Economics, CAS och TOK på IB-programmet (se info om IB-programmet på www.ibo.org). Naturvetargymnasiet är en liten skola med ca 350 elever. De program som erbjuds är de naturvetenskapliga programmen med flera inriktningar, IB-programmet som är riksintag, IVIK och det individuella programmet som erbjuder elever att läsa; engelska, svenska, matematik, NO-ämnen, SO-ämnen, bild och idrott. Naturvetargymnasiet är en auktoriserad IB World School sedan 1999. Economics is a course which aims at providing students with an understanding for the concepts and theories that are part of the study of Economics. The objectives of the course are not only to learn and understand economic theory, but also to be able to apply economic theory to a range of circumstances and a variety of situations, to be able to analyse information through the use of economic concepts and theories and to evaluate concepts and theories from different economic perspectives. The course considers micro and macro economics, international economics as well as economic development. The theory of knowledge (TOK) requirement is central to the educational philosophy of the Diploma Programme. It offers students and their teachers the opportunity to: .reflect critically on diverse ways of knowing and on areas of knowledge .consider the role and nature of knowledge in their own culture, in the cultures of others and in the wider world. In addition, it prompts students to: .be aware of themselves as thinkers, encouraging them to become more acquainted with the complexity of knowledge .recognize the need to act responsibly in an increasingly interconnected but uncertain world. The CAS requirement is a fundamental part of the programme and takes seriously the importance of life outside the world of scholarship, providing a refreshing counterbalance to academic studies. Students are expected to be involved in CAS activities for the equivalent of at least three hours each week during the two years of the programme. Each school appoints a CAS supervisor who is responsible for providing a varied choice of activities for students. Programmes are monitored by IB regional offices. A system of self-evaluation encourages students to reflect on the benefits of CAS participation to themselves and to others, and to evaluate the understanding and insights acquired. KVALIFIKATIONER Högskoleutbildning i ekonomiska ämnen, behörig som gymnasielärare har företräde. Eftersom samtliga styrdokument endast finns på engelska och en del av undervisningen sker på engelska är det viktigt att du läser obehindrat samt behärskar engelska i tal och skrift. Arbetsspråket i lärarlaget är också engelska. Vi ser gärna sökanden med tidigare erfarenheter av IB-programmet. Annan erfarenhet av internationella skolor är också meriterande.
