LCA specialist for the packaging area

Arbetsbeskrivning

Are you passionate about environmental and sustainability issues? Are you curious, driven, and innovative and want to work together with partners and customers towards a sustainable society? Then we have the job for you!

About us
The packaging area within RISE is growing strongly and we now want to strengthen our sustainability team with a specialist in life cycle analysis (LCA) of materials and packaging.

Our mission is to support the packaging industry's circular transformation, and the team is an important complement to the department's broad and deep technical expertise, primarily in fiber-based packaging and materials. You will be part of a unit called Product Safety and Barriers and you will work with colleagues across all of RISE. The position is primary located in Stockholm, but a flexible place of employment can also be applied.

About the role
In this role, you will work with life cycle analysis in larger projects as well as in direct assignments with customers. We work a lot in teams, but we also value the ability to take our own initiatives and work independently, as an important part of our business involves initiating and managing projects that meets the needs of the industry. As an employee at RISE, you have great opportunities to shape your work tasks and contribute to a sustainable society, through assignments, but also in grant-financed projects both nationally and internationally, eg. at EU level.

Important work tasks are:

- Life cycle analysis of packaging where data collection, modeling, scenario calculation and analysis regarding environmental impact are included
- Contact with customers and partners in projects
- Build internal and external networks
- Customer assignments, research and development in the environmental area with a focus on the circular value flow for packaging
- Initiate new projects and assignments

Who are you?
We are looking for you who has a great interest in environmental and sustainability issues and at least five years' experience of working with life cycle analysis, preferably within the packaging area. You have relevant academic education and experience of working with LCA and using relevant software such as GaBi or SimaPro. As a person, you are customer-focused and communicative, and can express yourself well in both speech and writing in both Swedish and English. You are innovative and driven with a good ability to work independently as well as in teams. We believe that you as a person quickly feel secure in working on your own and you are not afraid to dig in.

It is an advantage if you have experience of working with fiber-based materials and you are well acquainted with the packaging value cycle. You are used to working on projects and being a driving force in the work ahead. It is important that you work meticulous with data, that you are committed, see new opportunities, and enjoy problem solving.

Are we right for each other?
At RISE, we like different things and we are convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment where we together challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge and skills for the future. With us, passionate problem solvers meet to solve some of the world's most important, and perhaps funniest, problems. We can not promise you an easy job, but what we can promise you is a bunch of committed colleagues and some really exciting societal challenges to tackle. You will work in a dynamic environment that gives you development opportunities both professionally and personally. With us, you get the opportunity to make a real difference, welcome to the entire Swedish research institute and innovation partner.

If this seems interesting and want to know more, you are welcome to contact unit manager Therese Johansson, 010 228 45 31. Interviews will take place on an ongoing basis, so send your application as soon as possible, but no later than 29 May 2022.
