The Electromobility organization is responsible for the complete development lifecycle from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase. We drive the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. This organization develops and drives the electromobility component/product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Core responsibilities
We are now looking for a Lead Engineer Power Electronics to join Motor Drive System Design and Hardware team. In this position the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven capability and experience in power electronics design and development roles as well as experience from integration of the technology in electric and hybrid power trains. The main responsibilities will be to:      
Provide the Volvo Group with technical support and expertise within your competence area
Participate and provide technical results in advanced engineering and product development projects
Contribute to technology planning with a strategic approach
Lead development work with suppliers and technology partners
Lead a pool of engineers within the technical area, coaching them within its technical area
Engage in external technology networks and collaboration with academic partners

MSc. in Electrical Engineering with deep knowledge in the area of the design of Power Electronics
Proven experience in technology development within electric motor systems
Electric and hybrid vehicle drivetrains knowledge
Excellent spoken and written English
Experience to work cross functional with both internal and external suppliers

As this is a senior position with elements of leadership and work autonomy we think that the right candidate has at least 5 - 10 years of experience in the automotive industry preferably electric drives area.
