Roles and Responsibilities
Lead a cross-functional team made up of scientists, engineers, marketing, product definition, and chief engineers to define system requirements for new products and technology roadmaps
Working across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement technology solutions on new product introductions
Using broad technical expertise and experience of the team to help resolve complex design issues with current products
Providing domain expertise to own/lead technical design reviews, investigation of technical risks, as well as providing innovative solutions to achieve optimal system performance
Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on system performance and image/signal quality.
Developing requirements for key system performance parameters as they relate to image/signal quality, system safety, performance and calibration
Driving system tradeoff discussions within new product developments by having a full understanding of system architecture and interfaces
Investigating customer questions and complaints to provide technical answers and solutions
Providing technical leadership for project execution
Implementing and teaching engineering principles and standards
Driving innovation for competitive technical differentiation
Mentoring junior engineers in area of expertise

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
PhD Thesis related to design, development and characterization of a tomographic system including both simulation and experimental measurements. The system shall use radiation as a source and be based on energy sensitive detectors.
Product development experience with Computed Tomography (CT) physics, X-ray physics, CT calibration, CT imaging and CT image quality.
Demonstrated record leading a team to deliver innovation in technology development of applications for CT scanners.
5 years of relevant academic and/or industry experience leading teams or driving technology development for CT scanners.
3 years experience with CT specific system development, device operation and troubleshooting issues.
Proven track record investigating CT image quality issues during new product or feature introduction including those issues reported from systems already installed with customers. Document and provide safe and effective solutions based on these findings.
History of holistic, system-wide engineering approach for investigation and development of new or improved data corrections, including calibrations and image post processing with special focus on Image Quality for CT scanners.
Experience in a CT clinical environment working with clinicians/radiologists/application specialists
Familiarity with GE CT scanners including Research and Development on those systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in the use of software tools for analysis, modeling and simulations
Experience with research collaborations
Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer focused environment
Excellent influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives
Effective communication skills - ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
Demonstrated ability to distribute tasks and manage a project to completion
