We are strengthening our legal team to further support Ikano Bank’s growth journey and are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal Department at the Bank’s head office in Malmö, Sweden. Primary focus for the role is to support our Swedish business but you will also work with general corporate commercial support to the central functions. As a Legal Counsel of Ikano Bank you will work closely and in cooperation with the business. An ongoing task is to together find solutions, mitigate legal risks, and support the progress of, projects, products and contracts.

You will report to the Chief Legal Officer and work in close cooperation with business stakeholders and a team of experienced in-house lawyers both centrally and in the markets in which Ikano Bank operates.

Main responsibilities:

• Legal support and advice to the business in legal matters including commercial contracts, consumer credit matters, complaints, disputes, insurance mediation matters, data protection and integrity, regulatory requirements etc.

• Corporate commercial matters

• Manage and reduce legal risks and exposure

• Advising stakeholders on legal risks

• Providing training and knowledge sharing

• Keeping up to date with relevant international and local legal developments

• Participate in relevant projects, working groups and committees

Are you the one for Ikano?

You are a highly skilled and professional individual with high integrity. You have a Swedish law degree LL.M.. You have a minimum of three years of experience in advising business as an in-house lawyer and/or law firm where we see previous experience from multinational companies or other banks, finance/insurance business as an advantage. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, with excellent drafting skills.

As a person you are a driven, energetic, well-organized and a resourceful self-starter. You manage the ability to make clear, timely and well-reasoned decisions under significant workload and time pressure. You have a strong drive to support the business; you are practical, down to earth and a pronounced team player. You have excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with a drive to enable the continued success of our business.
