Job Description
We are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal Compliance team at the Stockholm Head Office. This is an opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in working with law and compliance in the world of retail and fashion.
As a colleague in the Legal Compliance Team, you will belong to a team within the Group Legal function, a core part of the H&M Group. The team, which currently consists of 12 people, provides legal support to the H&M Group in a wide range of legal areas such as Consumer Rights, Marketing Law, Competition & Antitrust, Data Privacy, AI & Digital and Environmental, Social & Governance related regulations.
In this role you will be focusing on a wide range of legal matters mainly in the areas of consumer law, e-commerce, and data privacy. You will support H&M Group´s global business to best manage business opportunities and risks. The position comes with lots of responsibility, complexity, variety – and lots of fun. You will work with a high degree of autonomy being able to plan and manage your own activities fully. Your tasks will cover a broad spectrum of all compliance related questions, with a global perspective in a large and exciting organization. H&M Group has a unique culture, and you will be working with ambitious and talented colleagues while driving high level projects with stakeholders from the whole H&M Group, including all our sales countries.
As Legal Counsel within the Legal Compliance team, you will:
Provide legal advice and support across H&M Group functions, brands, regions and markets, including risk identification and mitigation.
Take an active part in decision-making related to legal and commercial matters, to ensure compliance and the best business result possible.
Contribute to internal knowledge development and knowledge sharing within the H&M Group, including creating policies, guidelines, legal processes, templates and best practice, as well as holding training sessions for the business stakeholders where needed.
Collaborate with the other teams at H&M Group Legal including local legal counsels across the H&M Group, in order to provide comprehensive legal support to the H&M Group.
Support and answer questions and inquiries received from authorities, organizations and customers to cultivate relationships and the best customer offer.

Qualifications
As Legal Counsel within the Legal Compliance Team, you are a team player full of drive and optimism. We work closely together both within the team and with the rest of the business and we always strive to find the best solutions to complex issues. Therefore, you must be comfortable in communicating with different stakeholders both within and outside of the company and be able to explain complex matters in an easily digestible manner. You have an open and flexible mindset that helps you thrive in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. You have a can-do attitude and a service minded approach with the great ability to structure and prioritize your work. You are comfortable in leading the way and have the mindset that everyone is a leader.
In addition to matching the personal profile, we also seek the following qualifications:
You have a university law degree.
A minimum of 3-5 years' relevant work experience in EU consumer law from company, authority or law firm.
Experience in GDPR, e-commerce selling models, drafting and reviewing terms & conditions, as well as answering questions and inquiries received from enforcement authorities, organizations and customers is meriting.
Excellent written and verbal communication sills (professional English required).
