Legal Counsel towards Digital & Tech

Arbetsbeskrivning

For Sandvik’s business area segment Sandvik Machining Solutions, we’re now looking for a business-minded, experienced and socially confident Legal Counsel to strengthen our Legal Support team. And in this versatile role right in the center of our multinational business, your focus is on providing legal advice within the areas of digital, new technology and IT.
We are a market-leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for advanced industrial metal cutting with an exciting portfolio that holds some of the strongest brands in the market and where great focus is now on growing in digital solutions for the whole process of our customers’ machining operations. Sandvik is determined to make the digital shift, and our objective is clear – we are providing cutting edge digital solutions for our industry.
On our quest to push these industry boundaries, we need innovative, bright and collaborative minds. For the right candidate, this is an exciting opportunity to support and collaborate with all our divisions within this strategic and highly important area. You also get to combine your interest in legal matters, business and IT together with an amazing team of dedicated colleagues. In 2020, we had around 17 000 employees and a total revenue of 32 billion SEK.
The job - empowering the business to make confident decisions
Legal Support is responsible for enabling the business to take informed and balanced decisions across all legal disciplines worldwide, by providing qualitative legal advice and proactively assessing and mitigating key risks of our business. An important part of the job within Legal Support is further to ensure that we stay compliant with legal and regulatory requirements and applicable laws. This requires accuracy, strong integrity and solid business understanding, as well as proficiency across many legal and compliance disciplines. In this position your focus is specifically set on providing legal advice and collaborating with our divisions in establishing common documents and ways of working to proactively handle key legal risks within the areas of digital, new technology and IT. This also includes the legal aspects of software/firmware development, software-as-a-service offerings and in/out licensing arrangements.
You report directly to the Head of Legal Support and are located at our headquarters in Stockholm. Occasional travel between Stockholm and our sites in Sweden is a natural part of your job, as is some international travel.
Your character - an experienced and decisive team player with a strong drive to succeed
We’re looking for someone with a Swedish Law degree (Juristexamen) and at least five years’ work experience from a reputable business law firm or within a corporate in-house legal organization with international matters. You have the legal experience needed to act independently and to find legally adequate solutions to various situations, as well as a keen interest to further deepen your knowledge within legal areas of particular importance. Solid experience from, and a genuine interest in, digital and technology/IT matters is key for this position, including legal aspects of software/firmware development, software-as-a-service offerings and in/out licensing arrangements. Experience from R&D, intellectual property, general commercial agreements and M&A is also advantageous. As we operate both locally and in a global setting, you need excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbally and in writing.
We place great value on your personal qualities, characterized by your practical, analytical and decisive mindset, your strong integrity and the ability to get things done. You’re self-motivated and take initiatives, and as a true team player, you thrive on helping us grow. To gain trust is key in your job, and you do this by building long-term relationships and by offering advice and guidance based on legal experience, sound judgment and thorough business understanding.
