Who we are and what we do
At Transfer Galaxy we have developed a digital platform for cross-border remittance. With the help of technology, we make remittance cheaper, safer, and smarter while helping our customers to save on expensive fees when sending money to support their loved ones. We are backed by some of the most prominent investors in the Nordics. Being a regulated financial entity, as part of our normal business conduct, we always strive to be fully compliant with all regulatory matters.

At Transfer Galaxy, we leverage the value of technology in everything we do. Most of the systems and models we use, as well as the policies and steering document we adhere to are developed in-house, together with outside experts. As we work in a fast-paced environment, we prefer not to rely on outdated systems and excessive paperwork; that is for banks. Scalable technological solutions are what make us move forward.

We started 2021 with 60 dedicated and hardworking employees, today we’re more than 85 employees spread out in our offices located in Örebro, Stockholm and Frankfurt. We are now looking to expand our legal team with a legal counsel within corporate law and commercial contracts.

In the role, you will be working closely together with our other departments. You will provide legal support and expertise regarding legal issues arising from business activities with customers, partners, and outsourcing arrangements across the organisation. We expect you to be a hands-on, versatile, and well-organised “doer”, willing and able to take initiatives with a solution-oriented mindset and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations. The position reports to the company’s Chief Legal Officer.

The role as legal counsel entails:

- Template drafting and compliance implementation;
- Handling of corporate law matters;
- Reviewing and updating customer terms and conditions;
- Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and supporting the organisation in all legal and contractual matters;
- Conducting risk assessments and provide recommendations in connection with outsourcing arrangements;
- Ensuring compliance with EBA guidelines on outsourcing arrangements;
- Reviewing and improving business processes and systems;
- Other ad-hoc tasks in relation to legal matters.


The ideal candidate has:

- Degree of Master of Laws or the equivalent
- Strong integrity, credibility, and self-motivation
- A solutions-oriented mindset with strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well with others
- Minimum 2-4 years of relevant work experience from a consultancy firm and/or as an in-house legal counsel
- Fluency in Swedish and English
