LINUX System Manager for Product Development

FI designs and develops award-winning next-generation rich internet applications for clients such as MTV, America Online, Time Warner Cable and AT&T.FI also offers various licensed products to handle the increasing demand for highly interactive media applications.Our in-house products make it easy for clients to offer video experiences, on-demand content and blogging, as a few examples.Our products include, among others, the FIV - FI Video, and Propod - our Rich Media Blog.Our offices are located in New York and Stockholm, and the company employs over 50 different professionals and experts.We are growing our team and are now looking for a LINUX System Manager to join FI Stockholm!Role Overview: FI is seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual with extensive experience in the areas of LINUX/UNIX system administration and Internet technologies.As the LINUX System Manager you will mainly work with the deployment, maintenance and optimization of our new Media Blog, meaning you are responsible for having the system up and running at any time, including server infrastructure and all peripherals.The System Manager also verifies and deploys all security action items for the system and takes a key role in developing and applying state-of-the-art release management processes.Being responsible for the system, you will: .Maintain our Media Blog application and be fully prepared if the servers go down..Constantly build tools and scripts to automate the deployment, testing and trouble shooting of the system..Develop and apply processes and tools for a smooth and efficient release management..Coordinate team members and activities necessary to guarantee release deadlines..Configure firewalls and secure the application to any attacks from the outside..Handle databases and clustered systems..Customize, tune and install Linux/Unix servers for further FI applications.The creation of our new Media Blog is the fulfillment of our vision to create the best Media Blog format in the industry.The full product will be launched in the near future, but for a preview of the Media Blog platform, please visit www.thinkswedish.com Qualifications and background: .Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and several years of experience in UNIX and LINUX..Experience from Unix/Linux system administration tasks in development, QA and production environments..Knowledge of third party vendors (hardware, software and network experience)..Experience from maintaining large-scale web applications..Experience with Red Hat/Cent OS Linux 4+, Apache 2, JBoss 4 and MySQL 4+..Experience with deploying and configuring web statistics and tracking software..Experience with release management (merited).We want you to be: .Anticipative of problems and have excellent analytical skills..Service-minded and eager to provide day-by-day help and troubleshooting..Meticulous and effective in all communications and interactions..Well organized and able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
