The role, Logistics Engineer - General Cargo, is located within the operational transport function within the Inbound Logistics organisation (IBL) and will report to the Manager General Cargo. The purpose of the Logistics Engineer role is to ensure project based arrangement of transports, such as non-production material. You will have a crucial role and the ability to grow and prosper. The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Main responsibilities

* Arrangements for non-recurring transports e.g. quality rejects, project logistics such as shipment of tools to supplier, transportation of equipment, pre-series parts, material and parts for exhibitions and auto shows etc.
* Placement, steering, monitoring and managing of transport orders and on time deliveries for internal Volvo Cars customers
* Selection of the right transport concept and carrier based on the transport requirements and service levels of the internal customers
* Optimisation of tariffs and transports to provide the best service with reasonable cost
* Reporting and internal communication regarding on-going order status

Required qualifications

* Work experience from transportation planning and/or freight forwarding
* Knowledge of carriers operations
* Fluent in English
* Education in Logistics and/or experience from OEM inbound logistics preferred

Personal qualities

* Good ability to communicate and excellent coordination skills
* Proven ability to perform well under pressure and in complex critical situations
* Service- and business minded
