The role Logistics Engineer - Transportation Control is located within the Operational transport function within the Inbound Logistics organisation (IBL) and will report to the Senior Manager Transport Execution. The purpose of the Transport Execution function is to ensure inbound transportation execution for production material to plants, warehouses and consolidation centers. This function is critical to manage the timely shipping and arrival of production material for 5 factories on a daily basis. Delayed shipments will lead to production loss. Inbound transportation and terms to be agreed with carriers, part suppliers and the receiving plant's incoming goods reception. The demands and the pace will be high at the same time offering a unique opportunity to make a professional imprint and great future possibilities for the ambitious and skilled. The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Main responsibilities
· Operational Planning and execution of inbound transportation such as:
Checking order structure based on current volumes, evaluating short-term/daily changes for cost efficient transports, updating transport mode due to short-term/daily changes and agreeing on short term changes with stakeholders, focus on FTL´s (Full Track Load-planning), milk runs and cross docks

· Generate transport orders and clarify problems in case of transport orders generated or confirmed by suppliers
· Secure operational transportation performance within area of responsibility
· Ensure that external providers are performing according to the agreed terms
· Achieve and report on the premium freight budget in area of responsibility
· Cooperate with internal Volvo Cars' stake holders
· Communicate with central functions, local plants and contracted logistics parties.

Required qualifications
· Proven knowledge and experience of transportation planning and / or freight forwarding processes, minimum 2 years.
· Knowledge of carriers operations
· Ability to quickly assess complex critical situations
· Preferably experience from inbound logistics within automotive.
· Fluent in English
