We operate several production sites and warehouses globally, both with Sandvik personnel and outsourced, and we use a number of logistics providers to ensure that cargo remains effectively moved around via road, train, ocean or air in support of operational excellence and cost efficiency.
In this position, you optimize where, how, and with whom we organize our logistics setup. Hereby shaping and determining our global strategy, including the levels of outsourcing, our forwarding engagements and how we design and optimize our distribution network. You take lead and drive performance and operational excellence across the entire value and supply chain to secure service and cost for all material flows from suppliers, internal and external production sites, global and regional warehouse distribution centers and local sales areas.
The location for this position is preferably Svedala, however, for the right candidate it can be flexible within Europe. Travel is normally included in your job, but due to the pandemic situation, we consider the digital arena as more important than ever, and it’s possible to work from home.
Your background and characteristics
We’re looking for someone with a bachelor’s or master’s degree within a relevant area, for example Logistics or Supply Chain Management or similar, combined with at least five years’ industry experience from global logistics networks and transport. You’re person of action with clear customer focus, and you enjoy the dynamic of working inside a supply chain. You take the lead, and like being in the forefront of things, solving both day to day logistics challenges and the long-term strategy for your area. Being independent makes it easy for you to get things done and, at the same time, you’re a true team player who believes that the best solutions emerge in great collaborations.
