Job Scope
The Manager of Factory Design manages the factory design team (including Factory Design PMs, layout engineers, material flow engineers, and process experts) and the factory design framework and tools. The manager is responsible for ensuring definition and creation of the correct interfaces to other teams in the program, communication to stakeholders, and escalation of key factory design decisions. The manager is accountable to the program team for the factory design teams work.
Key Responsibilities include (But are not limited to)
Overall areas of responsibility and activities
Manage and develop the factory design team and team members
Ensure succession planning
Manage and develop the factory design framework and the tools used for factory design
Resource planning, levelling, and staffing/recruiting
Budget and Business planning supporting overall cylindrical business planning and objectives.
Ensure program objectives and priorities are reflected in team priorities and objectives.
Provide communication, transparency, and status for cylindrical leadership and programs teams.
Align with programs and key stakeholders on governance and staffing
Participate in program(s) time planning and strategy
Ensure pathways for communication, escalations as well as forums for decisions needed for factory design process to proceed.
Alignment with internal and external stakeholders on progress and performance as well as future needs.
Define all factory design roles and their responsibilities
Alignment with other factory design related teams in the Northvolt community on the factory design framework, tools, and roles (especially Blueprint).
Support Factory Design PMs in removing obstacles and getting decisions.
Provide forecasting to support resource planning of factory program.

Authorized to decide on investments according to role and policy
Budget responsibility: yes (for team)
Direct reports: yes
Authority to recruit in accordance with team resource budget
Authority to act according to approve business plan and budget

Requirements
Education or other qualification or competence relevant to succeed in the job
Required education/experience
BSc or MSc degree in relevant engineering field (e.g. electrical, chemical, mechanical)
Master of science in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering or equivalent
Extensive project leadership experience in fast moving demanding industrial environments
Experienced in multi-cultural working environment
Must have worked in multi-cultural environment

Excellent English written and oral skills
Proficient in Microsoft Project
Multi-tasking
