Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

To support Scanias transformation we are now looking for a manager to the R&D Digital Office, a team of 15 people with the purpose of accelerating R&D:s digitalisation journey. The groups responsibilities cover a wide range of areas which we have divided into four sub-categories; Information Management, Digital Office Experience, Digital Strategy and Research, and Information Security. Each of the sub-categories has its own team assigned to it, where people with similar interests but different competences are grouped together in order to achieve great efficiency and speed in their work. The group consists of R&D digital officer, business IT analysts, developers, project managers, strategists, Information Security and Privacy officers, as well as researchers.

The R&D Digitalisation Office belongs to the section Process, Methods & IT-tools, we supply cross-functional process & IT services to R&D through support with change management, initiative facilitation and lead, visualisation and education, business analysis etc. We currently focus our efforts within the areas of Simulation, Testing, Legal demands, Information management and Digitalisation.

Your tasks  

Increase speed and modularisation in R&D through digitalisation by inspiration, motivation and support to the R&D organisation.


• Increase speed by improving communication and the transfer of information across domains.
• Explore new technologies and applications/tools that might help improve WoW within the organisation.
• Help R&D become data driven by supplying services connected to data analysis, presentation and visualisation via reports and dashboards.
• Structure the way we plan, follow up and steer our activities by integrating information from different sources.
• Help creating the digital thread and enable a data driven organisation by supporting structured document management.

Your profile

• You have several years of experience as a manager and leader.
• You know how to inspire, motivate and coach both the members of your team and other stakeholders.
• You have a deep interest in new technology and digitalisation.
• You thrive on creating change and finding new ways of improving both processes and IT-tools.
• You have experience of agile way of working and believe that speed and flexibility will help us achieve better results, faster.
• You have the ability to take on a broad, strategic perspective within the domain but also like to get down and understand the nitty gritty of what your teams are up to.
• You are skilled at getting to know the organisation you act within, understanding how it works and building networks across different parts and functions.
• You speak both Swedish and English fluently.
