Volvo Construction Equipment, a business area within the Volvo Group, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of construction equipment such as wheel loaders, excavators, articulated haulers, road development equipment and compact equipment. Production facilities are located in Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America. The turnover for 2006 reached SEK 40,6 billion. The number of employees is app. 14 000. Volvo Construction Equipment AB Component Division has the responsibility for development and manufacturing of driveline components to Volvo's construction equipment. Development of electronic systems is also a part of the responsibility. Component Division has app. 1 200 employees. The business is located to Eskilstuna, but manufacturing is also performed in co-operation with other companies in different places. The Testing, Verification and Standard department is a part of the R&D organization in Volvo Construction Equipment AB Component Division situated in Eskilstuna. We have the responsibilities for simulations, calculations, strength testing, component testing, material techniques, standardization and prototype workshop. We have now also the responsibility for the new areas Verification and Methods in R&D. We are now looking for a Manager Verification and Methods Tasks and responsibilities: The department is a new resource for the R&D group and will support the group with competence, methods and tools in the System Engineering area. Requirement settings, Risk analyses and Reliability analyses are typical focus areas. Verification of components is also a part of the responsibilities which demands a strong cross functional work approach towards projects, test and calculation departments. Main tasks: Manage the department. Responsible for personnel, budget and deliveries Be a part of the Testing, Verification and Standard Management team Build up and continuously develop a powerful team that are supporting a system engineering way of working to achieve increased quality and shortened lead time in the development work Qualifications: An engineering degree from university (MSc) or similar Some experience from a managerial position as line manager or project manager A strong interest for System Engineering An inspiring leadership and someone who can set a high standard of work achievements through your own commitments and behaviour Skills in communication and like to work with people At Volvo CE we are actively working to establish groupings that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent in differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender and nationality, etc. We find that well balanced working groups increases group dynamics, creativity and new approaches to solutions.
