Our Retrieval Robotics teams are at the cutting-edge of our technology engineering business. From the design and manufacture of the most state-of-the-art products in the business, to their delivery into our multi-million pound Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) across the globe, our bespoke electrical and mechanical development projects are pushing the boundaries of innovation and automation.


As a Manufacturing Engineer you will implement and review the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process, identify potential problems and ensure quality. You will collaborate with testing and design engineers, mechatronics and product planners to ensure a coherent product. A Manufacturing Engineer also seeks to balance various aspects of the project, from assembly procedures to design. Additionally, you will research advanced technologies and materials and have the freedom to innovate in order to find cost-effective solutions.


How you’ll spend your days...
Contribute to the creative process that drives new concepts and innovations, with personal focus on delivery and technical exploration.
Managing manufacturing and assembly, as well as their data in an iterative process, contributing to the team’s best practices while learning from past iterations.
Designing, setting up, running, verifying, and post processing testing to help understand manufacturing behaviour and properties. With the intent of learning as much as possible about a given challenge within a reasonable timeframe. These can be both physical, analytical and/or numerical.
Contribute to proven manufacturing design methods and practices, component selection and wider system architectural decisions.
Manage your own workload to drive the team’s delivery, provide insights and solutions to ongoing issues, supporting others in your team as needed.
Collaborate with a wider team of engineers of different backgrounds and expertise in order to find synergies and cooperative solutions.


We want to talk to people with...
Background in manufacturing and knowledge of common manufacturing methods, their requirements and limitations.
Knowledge of CAD
Background with mechanical design principles and best practices
Background using workshop machinery with a “hands on” experience in a workshop environment



Bonus points if you also have...
Experience with additive manufacturing or and rapid prototyping techniques
Experience using lab test equipment, test methods, setting up testing, best practices and validating results
Knowledge in mechatronics
