Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Paint

In Commodity Paint Team (ME Paint Commodity) our main task is to ensure a process driven product development in cross functional teams. Commodity Paint Team consists of 18 engineers with different backgrounds located in Gothenburg and Gent, main part in Gothenburg. In the ME Paint department we also work together with our other ME Paint teams and we are a total of 57 employees.
As Commodity Engineer Paint you will be responsible for a process area (pre-treatment & Electrocoat and waste water treatment) to drive our manufacturing attributes to secure a good Body design that support a good launch in our paint shops plants and prepare the product for the process. You will support production and the local engineering offices in issues linked to the process area of responsibility. Lead cross technical product & process manufacturing work. Create Process and Inspection Instruction for our paint shop when launching new models. You will also participate in launching new models in the paint shop.
Main responsibilities
* Represents Manufacturing Engineering (ME) as well as the plants towards respective DPL (Program Manager) within ME and Product Development within responsible area, Pretreatment & Electrocoat
* Deliver a product- and process solution according to manufacturing requirements
* Deliver required input on status and deviations in decided systems/tools
* Drive the Paint Manufacturing Engineering area - Pretreatment & Electrocoat support on global level
* Create needed Process and Inspection Instruction (PII)
Required qualifications
* University degree within technical or chemical field and/or experience from similar positions
* Practical experience of the production process of Paint Shop
* Fluent in English written and spoken
* Basic computer skills
* Surface treatment knowledge is meritorious
