Master Thesis, 30 HP: Exploring MBD Implementation

Arbetsbeskrivning

Are you ambitious and motivated students looking to explore the transformative power of Model Based Definition? Join us in investigating the implementation of MBD at SAAB Surveillance Huskvarna

Your role

In an era of rapid technological advancement, Model-Based Definition (MBD) emerges as a transformative force in reshaping industry practices. At Saab, we continuously strive to enhance our competitiveness and operational efficiency, and now more so due to the vast growing demand in the defense industry. We recognize the potential of MBD in optimizing processes, reducing costs, and improving overall efficiency and productivity. However, we acknowledge that the process of successfully implementing MBD is accompanied by various challenges.

Your responsibility will be to assist Saab Surveillance Huskvarna in exploring the challenges that our organization faces and must overcome when considering the implementation of MBD. You will play a crucial role in formulating strategic recommendations and decisions regarding how to implement MBD. This Master's thesis aims to provide a detailed analysis of the challenges hindering MBD implementation. It seeks to compile a comprehensive understanding of these challenges and develop a framework for categorizing and prioritizing them. It is advisable to develop and apply maturity models for MBD for this purpose. Additionally, the thesis aims to outline a roadmap for the initial phases of our MBD implementation journey, complete with recommendations, based on a thorough analysis of our ways of working with the help of utilizing maturity models specifically developed for MBD.

Engaging in this Master's thesis provides a unique opportunity to explore MBD while gaining valuable experience in working with a large technology-influenced company.
