Material Development & Application Lead

Biofiber Tech’s vision is to connect the forestry and plastic industry. We have developed an unique patented technology to modify wood fibers and make them more “plastic like” – thereby enabling them to become an attractive biobased and renewable feedstock to use in the plastic product production, reducing dependence on fossil based raw material and contributing to a more sustainable environment. We have now an immediate opening for a material development and application lead in the field of bio-composite and thermoplastic material processing.


Main responsibilities:


Lead Biofiber Tech material development & application efforts in thermoplastic product manufacturing process such as plastic compounding, injection and /or compression moulding.
Support Biofiber Tech’s sales efforts by providing technical product application support with various players in the plastic industry and with end use brand owners
Lead & execute material trialling and testing both internally and externally with Biofiber Tech commercial partners /customers of plastic compounders /injection moulders
Lead Biofiber Tech’s technical sales & marketing efforts towards plastic industry by drafting of material application case studies and customer user guidelines and on -site customer visits and trials
Monitor competitive technology and product landscape, and identify new product development and market application opportunities



Job requirement


Ph.D degree in polymer chemistry and /or polymer material/bio-composite processing
Having a solid technical knowledge with a few years working experiences in the field of thermoplastic polymer or bio-composite material processing and characterisation in academic and /or in commercial plastic product manufacturing companies
A person of positive mindset with excellent communication & problem solving skills, who is initiative taking, driven and with a passion to drive impact innovation for a sustainable environment
A person with project leading / coordination skills who enjoys working with both technical and market related challenges.
