Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description
We are now looking for an experienced engineer in the area of mechanical design. The work itself will be very exciting and challenging with a variety of tasks with good opportunities for personal development. Our division has a world leading position among surface drill rigs and exploration technics. Our competitiveness is built on quality and performance in several segments. This means that we have sophisticated machines with advanced systems in various technology areas such as diesel engines, compressor system, advanced mechanisms, CAN bus control systems etc. The competition within our segment of products is high and demands continuous development and improvements in order to stay ahead of our competitors. To further strengthen our competitiveness we are now employing an engineer that would like to work with world class products and to take our products to the next level of performance.
Your work, located in Örebro, will be to design and develop our products. You will be working in new development projects but also with existing products where we focus on small and effective improvements. Typically, the work is often made in projects where mechanical design, screw joint dimensions and hand calculations will be example of core areas to manage. Internal cross functional contacts are essential as well as external contacts with supplier and others.
The work covers concept development and realisation, 3D CAD design and modelling, drawings and products specifications and contact with suppliers.

Knowledge
You are a skilled engineer, knowledgeable in general machine design, machine element dimensioning such as screw and weld attachments. Furthermore, you need skills in weld technology, manufacturing methods and materials since these are common areas of the development work.
We use both ProEngineer and Inventor as the CAD tool, it is therefore necessary with skills in 3D CAD design. You also need a god command of English, both verbally and written since this is the language for reports and communications.

Education requirements and experience
MSc or similar in mechanical engineering (or equivalent knowledge) with at least 3-4 years of experience in mechanical design.

In order to be successful and enjoy the challenges in the position you should have a general technical interest, be a self-propelled teamworker able to take initiative and responsibility. You need a structured and analytical approach to your tasks.
