What’s in it for you?
Working with Metrology means that you establish and develop relationships with test engineers within almost all system areas of the vehicle as well as building an understanding of the technology within those areas. Metrology is the owner of all measurement tools at R&D. Our responsibility is to ensure that our customers are equipped with right tools and supported by our high metrological expertise. The group consists of 17 engineers who works together with supporting R&D global. As a Mechantronic Engineer you will develop and support metrology & calibration solutions for the R&D organization. Your focus will be on solutions for electric current measurement and on mechatronic solutions to measure different physical parameters and to analyse data traffic. You will build and maintain a wide personal network both within R&D as well with our suppliers. You are able to form your deliveries and to develop your own skills, both technically as well as in the area of metrology. As part of our team, you get access to long-term development opportunities in a dynamic and continuously growing field, where you have a strong direct influence on customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do:
You will belong to the network group at Volvo Cars and your main responsibilities will be to support colleagues at Volvo with their equipment, programs etc. Your other responsibilities will include working closely with test engineers from Powertrain, Active Safety and Chassis and Electrics/Electronics to find suitable measurement/calibration solutions for their needs. You will provide support and develop methods in our measurement tools, while forming part of our tool groups. You will share your knowledge with customers from R&D and members of the group, and educate other test engineers within R&D. 

Your skills and Experience:
We believe that you have a B.Sc. degree within electronics, mechatronic, metrology or a similar education, and relevant experience from tools like Dewesoft, INCA and Vector. It is considered an advantage if you have knowledge in one more of the following communication protocols: CAN, CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay and Ethernet. Ideally you should have experience working in the automotive industry. Programming knowledge will be considered advantageous, the preferred language being Python, CAPL and/or C/C++. You are fluent in written and spoken English and in possession of a Driver’s license B.
