Are you our new Mining Engineer?
Our vision is to use new technologies and to make the advanced battery materials needed for the world to conserve and store energy. We are positioned in the exciting region of Northern Sweden where we are building a supply chain for the battery industry. We have a world class deposit with great technology and we want to turn it into a first class mining operation.
At this very moment we are in the middle of an exciting expansion phase and are looking for a Mining Engineer that can help us grow. Talga is growing like you wouldn’t believe, and we have some aggressive production plans. So, we need your planning skills and your capabilities in mine designs.

What you'll do?
Reporting to the Group COO, we are looking for a Mining Engineer to optimize mine designs and liaise with engineering and mining personnel to ensure the mine plans are executed efficiently and safely. You will focus on developing a new mining project with medium, long-term and LOM plans. You will also be undertaking necessary engineering work for gaining mining approvals. You will provide guidance and support on the development of the mining contract for the new mine. The role will include doing calculations and 3D modeling to design the actual mine.

You are a self-starter, seeking solutions and raising new ideas, where there is ambiguity and be adaptable in a changing work environment. It is important you create an environment that leads to an incident free operation.
Who are you?
To succeed in this role you will need to have:
- a degree qualification in Mining Engineering
- minimum 7 years working experience in a mine planning role with operational mining experience in both open cut and underground mining
- considerable mine design skills, scheduling life-of-mine planning and site-based production planning.
- experience with mine software packages, preferably Surpac / Vulcan / Deswik.
- high technical document writing skills
- driver's license
Ability to provide technical data for mining contracts and experience in contractor management will be highly regarded. You are going to work with a mixed citizen & expatriate workforce and need to be communicative and understanding to different cultures. This role requires that you are engaged and meticulous in your work.
