As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be included in a worldwide network of customers, suppliers and co-workers. Marine Jet Power has about 50 employees in Uppsala, which means you will work in an environment of close collaboration and short decision-making processes.

<b>Work tasks</b>

As part of the R&D-team, you will have an important role in the development of waterjet units that are delivered worldwide. The R&D-team have an active role in the development process, parallel with the ongoing work to constantly improve existing products and provide customer-specific solutions. Development projects involves the entire process from idea to finished waterjet units in production. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work to improve and resolve different types of design related aspects regarding the waterjets, its various subsystems and different material choices.

<b>Qualifications/Requirements</b>

You have a Masters or Bachelor degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering / Naval Architecture or equivalent. Marine Jet Power can find the right position for you regardless if you have multiple years of experience of design or if you are in the beginning of your career. You have a good knowledge in CAD and PDM-systems. Marine Jet Power uses Solidworks, Inventor and EPDM.

Ideally you have previous experience in at least one of the areas below:

• Worked with welded structures and has experience in design of cast parts in aluminum and steel.

• Experience of working in the marine segment and preferably with product knowledge of waterjet units and hydrodynamics.

• Worked with hydraulics.

• Experience of FEA and calculations.

• Mastering the designer tools, have experience of working with tolerance analysis and possesses good knowledge of different characteristics of materials.

As Marine Jet Power operate in an international market, it is important that you have good knowledge in English, both written and spoken. As a person you are ambitious, dedicated, self-motivated and solution oriented. You like to work both independently and in groups to creatively find design solutions. This is important as you will collaborate internally and externally with our customers and suppliers around the world.
