Research and Development: Implementation Design HW & SW Description of company Business Unit Broadband Networks is the Business Unit at Ericsson providing transmission, transport and broadband access systems - essential elements in Ericssons end-to-end solutions.These systems are also sold as independent business as they are based upon open standards and, hence, often chosen by operations with otherwise non-Ericsson networks.Our state-of-the-art portfolio of competitive complete end-to-end solutions includes microwave transmission, optical transport and wireline broadband access.We are about 5000 employees based in Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Germany, UK and Norway. Job description Our MMIC and RFIC design unit develops advanced RF and microwave frequency ICs to the Minilink radio and modems.The resulting state-of-the-art MMICs have been, and will for the forseeable future, continue to be, an essential part of success and profitability of the Minilink product. We are now in a very intense and exiting period of developing a new family of MMICs for our new radio platform.To ensure a smooth and timely delivery of these ICs we are in an urgent need of strengthening our work force with one MMIC designer.The work includes break-down of requirements to circuit block level, circuit simulation, layout, EM-simulations, documentation, circuit verification and product maintenance.It is also required to keep a good contact with the foundries who manufacture our MMICs and with our design unit in Milan.Typical circuit design blocks are VCOs, mixers, LNAs, frequency multipliers, driver and buffer amplifiers and filters.We currently have one open position and we welcome young applicants without extensive experience but with an education in the microwave field and with a strong desire to learn. Competence An education in MMIC and/or RFIC design. Experience with advanced microwave frequency simulators, preferably ADS, Momentum and HFSS Familarity with GaAs HBT and/or HEMT IC technologies is an advantage Experience with advanced microwave frequency measurements and instruments Cooperative Fluency in English Formal qualification: Ph.D.or M.S.Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics or similar education with microwave engineering course work.
