Volvo Car Corporation designs, develops, manufactures and markets Volvo Cars all over the world. Its research and development mostly takes place in Gothenburg, Sweden. Modelling department 51510 is a key organization within Product design; we are building all physical models for design verification and surface verification. We have the facilities to mill and for handicraft manufacturing. We have also a long collaboration together with the different workshops at engineering, and several external model suppliers.
Our staff is divided in different project teams; there they contribute with their expertise.

We are now in a process to employee one Model project leader.

We are today responsible for all physical modelling at the department and our work is to perform high standard models for Design and surface verifications.

Due to new equipment and new working process, we believe that you are a person that have very easy to learn new things, and that you easily could adapt into a new group of people.

Job description; Model project leader.

Main task:

Initiate ordering of all physical models and reference parts for project needs.
Superintend that model budget stays within frame when it comes to resources and economy.
Plan all model activities.
Lead all model activities that are done from Modellors, Model worker,
Modellor contractors.
Be responsible for that the models have the right quality within the project.
Initiate ordering of transports.
Participate at different line and project meetings.
Develop and make model making more effective.
Follow the design process.

Qualifications:

Technical education on university level or equivalent experience.
Be proficient in English.
PC literate (MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint as the minimum.)
Very good knowledge in different model manufacturing techniques.
Profit by information from drawings, functional models etc.

Good communications and cooperation skills are highly appreciated.
Have a strong drive to reach results.
High social skills and customer focus.
Ability to listen and coach.
Ability to manage multiple items at the same time without loosing focus or quality.
Feeling home in an international and diverse environment.
Ability to travel.
