Programme, Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme.

The school works in close collaboration with Katedralskolan where the IB Diploma Programme is offered. ISLK is a growing school and has approximately 470 students at the moment.

Job description
The MYP Learning support assistant will:

- Support students in accessing the curriculum in collaboration with subject teachers and the Learning support teacher and Learning support coordinator. The work will be carried out both in class and with pull-out sessions according to student needs.
- Give social and emotional support to students as well as academic.
- Support students during transition periods and in between lessons when needed
- Facilitate the development of students’ organizational skills and independence
- Plan and perform study sessions for reinforced learning, planning and organisation in collaboration with teachers, students and the Learning support teacher and Learning support coordinator
- Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of assistive devices, supportive technology (e.g. Chromebook, Legimus) and accessing facilities.
- Keep informed of students with learning support needs and assist teachers in implementing appropriate accommodations.

- Perform other duties as assigned

The working language at ISLK is English. The learning support assistant applicant needs to be fluent in English and the application needs to be written in English to be considered.

Qualifications & experience
- Experience of support students age 11-16 in a school environment
- Ability to support students age 11-16 in Mathematics
- Experience Work with inclusive practices
- Experience working with students ages 11 to 16 in an international and multi-cultural setting
- Demonstrated effective communication skills in speaking and writing in English

Desired qualifications & experience
- Experience of different MYP subjects
- Knowledge of several languages
