Operational Buyer

ValueOne is looking for an Operational Buyer for a longer assignment at an automotive company in Gothenburg. The assignment must be filled as soon as possible. There is the possibility of remote work part of the time.

The role  

As operational buyer you will be a member of procurement team located in Europe and China responsible for purchasing of base engine components aimed for production of powertrains. You will cooperate with stakeholders such as R&D, Strategy & Business, Manufacturing & Logistics and be responsible for your deliveries and deadlines. Additionally, you will be encouraged to take on responsibilities outside of your main areas of responsibility in order to broaden your personal. There is the possibility of remote work part of the time.

Main tasks:

Drive and develop the purchasing work within base engine.
Identify and implement cost reductions.
Be the first point of supplier contact.
Conduct market benchmarks and supplier evaluations.
Lead and perform commercial negotiations.
Cooperate with internal customers
Ordering and handling of agreements etc.
Develop and optimize the supplier base.

Experience and competencies  

The person we are looking for should have 2-5 years of experience from commercial and/or engineering work including commercial negotiations and legal knowledge. We prefer you to have a Business or Technical University degree (or equivalent).

To succeed in the role, you must have a strong business acumen combined with high integrity and ability to prioritize your work and deliver on time. Also, excellent communication skills (written and oral) is a prerequisite for the role. Furthermore, you can handle parallel projects, like challenges and are focused on setting and reaching goals. As the main supplier contact you have excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English.
