ValueOne is looking for an Operational Buyer of Direct Material for a consultant assignment at manufacturing company in Gothenburg. The assignment starts in April and lasts for seven months.

The role  

The role as Operational Buyer of Direct Material means that you will be working with procurement of production materials aimed for the company´s production sites in the EU and Asian region. You will be responsible for your deliveries and deadlines. As Operational Buyer you are part of a team located in EU and Asia collaborating with stakeholders such as R&D, Strategy & Business, Manufacturing & Logistics. Additionally, you will be encouraged to take on responsibilities outside of your main areas of responsibility to broaden your personal skills and advance your development.

Remote work is possible 1-2 days a week.

Main tasks:

Drive and develop the purchasing work.
Be responsible for identifying and implementing cost reductions.
Be the first point of supplier contact.
Be responsible for market benchmarks and supplier evaluations.
Lead and perform commercial negotiations.
Be responsible for cooperation with the internal customers.
Ordering and handling of agreements etc.
Be responsible for developing and optimizing the supplier base.

Experience and competencies  

The assignment requires at least 2-5 years of commercial and/or engineering work, including commercial negotiations and legal knowledge. We prefer you to have a Business or Technical University degree (or equivalent). Excellent communication skills in English, oral and written, is mandatory.

The ideal person for this assignment has a strong business acumen combined with high integrity. You know how to prioritize your own work and always deliver on time. Furthermore, you are a strong team player with a creative and solution-oriented mindset, daring to challenge status quo. Additionally, you can manage parallel projects and are focused on setting and reaching goals.
