Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics in Uppsala Sweden PhD Studentship in Bioinformatics BACKGROUND: We are seeking a PhD student with an interest in genome analysis and bioinformatics to work with Dr.Erik Bongcam-Rudloff as Lead supervisor and Co-supervisors; Dr.Etienne deVilliers & Dr.Richard Bishop, ILRI Nairobi, Kenya. Studies will be focused on Genomics and bioinformatics of pathogenic bacterial species isolated from camel milk.The goals are to get insights into the molecular epidemiology of pathogenic camel- and human-infective pathogenic bacteria. REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate would have a Masters degree in either bioinformatics, molecular biology, computer science, or statistics (and an interest in the other subjects), some previous lab experience and some programming experience (ideally experience with JAVA, Perl, R, SQL, *nix, genomics).
